A new marriage is a great thing and a Christ-based marriage better yet. Unhappily, from the very beginning the commitment of one or both partners is in question because divorce is always a possibility in the back of the mind. Some even speak of the possibility right from the beginning of their marriage, further depressurizing their commitment and love. Some use divorce as a fleshly marriage wedge to get what they want. Christians are not immune from such ideas or conduct.
Any of these attitudes or realities in the flesh can easily destroy your sacred marriage commitment:
Unrealistic expectations
Disagreements over money and overuse of credit
Physical exhaustion
Over-commitment outside of marriage
Unchecked Selfishness
Immaturity or lack of maturity
Interference from outside family members
Lack of respect, jealousy and ‘low self-esteem’
Alcohol, drug abuse or pornography
Sexual frustration
Business failure or overwhelming success
